Microsoft Word: How to Set Up an MLA Format Essay (2017)

How to set up an MLA format essay (8th edition, 2017) in Microsoft Word 2016:
  1. Open a new document.
  2. Set the font to Times New Roman, size 12.
  3. In the Paragraph section, set the line spacing to 2.0.
  4. Also in the line spacing menu, select Remove Space After Paragraph.
  5. Type your first and last name. Press enter/return once.
  6. Type the name of the professor or teacher. Enter/return.
  7. Type the name of the class. Enter/return.
  8. Type the either the due date or completion date of the paper, whichever is applicable. Use the format DD month YYYY. For example, 01 January 2017. Enter/return.
  9. In the Paragraph section, set the alignment to Center.
  10. Type the title of the paper. Enter/return.
  11. Press the tab key once to indent.
  12. Type your essay, separating each paragraph by pressing enter/return only once. Indent each paragraph with the tab key.
  13. With the cursor at the end of the last paragraph, go to Insert > Page Break.
  14. On the new page, change the alignment to Center and type Works Cited.
  15. For information on how to cite sources, check out the Purdue OWL MLA Formatting and Style Guide.
  16. Go to the top of the first page.
  17. Insert > Page Number > Top of Page > Plain Number 3 (number in the top right of the page).
  18. Type your last name, then a space.
  19. Select your name and the page number, and set the font to match the paper.
  20. This page number will be added automatically to all pages.

How to turn off all notifications in Windows 10:
  1. Open the Settings.
  2. Go to System.
  3. From the sidebar, select Notifications & actions.
  4. Turn everything off.
  5. Go back to the main settings page.
  6. Go to Personalization.
  7. From the sidebar, select Taskbar.
  8. Under Notification area, click Turn system icons on or off.
  9. Set Action Center to Off.

Google Chrome: How to Delete Browsing History (Late 2016)

How to delete the browsing history in Google Chrome (around version 55, late 2016):
  1. Open the menu.
  2. Go to History > History.
  3. To remove individual sites, click the three dots and select Remove from history.
  4. To remove all data, open the menu and go to Settings.
  5. Scroll down and click Show advanced settings...
  6. Under Privacy, select Clear browsing data... 
  7. Choose which categories to delete and how far back to delete them.
  8. Click Clear browsing data.

Atom: How to Convert Tabs to Spaces

How to convert tabs to spaces (and spaces to tabs) with the Atom text editor:
  1. Select all (Ctrl+A) or select the portion of text you want to change.
  2. Go to Packages > Whitespace > Convert Tabs To Spaces. If you want to convert spaces to tabs, use the Convert Spaces To Tabs option.
  3. The selected text will be converted.

Notepad++: How to Copy Code With Formatting and Color

How to copy code with formatting and color in Notepad++:
  1. Go to Plugins -> NppExport.
  2. NppExport should be a default plugin. If it is not there, install it using the Plugin Manager.
  3. Select Copy RTF to clipboard.
  4. Paste into an application that supports rich-text formatting, such as Microsoft Word, and the code will keep its formatting and color.
