This isn't a normal tutorial. It's just something I need to share with anybody that might need it. The flap / cover over the USB port on the Samsung Galaxy S5 proved to be incredibly annoying to me, especially with phone cases. I honestly don't care about the phone being dust or water proof. I've owned devices for many years without any dust or water problems, and I don't plan on soaking them in water anytime soon.
The photos below demonstrate how to remove the flap. They are not mine; I found them on the internet. But they are probably the only ones out there and deserve to be shared. All credit goes to the original author.
It's an easy process. You will need a small plus screwdriver and a sharp knife or knife-like tool. First, remove the back cover. Then remove the two bottom screws. The one on the left may cause some trouble, but remember to be gentle. Pry the plastic piece where the flap tab inserts into ONLY A LITTLE. Just enough to get the tab out. Push it right back into place, and screw everything back up.
If you happen to fail, you will end up like the last picture. The piece will break off entirely.
Don't get too worried if this happens. It will not affect anything. Screw in the right screw, and replace the back cover.
Now you won't have to open this flap every time you have to charge or connect the phone, and it won't conflict with any phone cases.
